College of Medicine Defends Master Thesis on Intensive Care Unit Patients The student Mohammed Jareh Al-Atabi was defended for his thesis entitled Genotypic Characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus Isolates from Intensive Care Unit Patients in Wasit Province, Iraq The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Khudair, Chairman, Prof. Dr. Salem Rahif Arian, Member, Prof. Dr. Hassan Akram Adbis, Member, Prof. Dr. Rana Hussein Rahim, Member, and Supervisor. The aim of the current study was to use several methods to identify sources of infection and classify methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) through the use of genotyping of these bacteria with their relationship to antibiotic resistance and the thesis was accepted with a distinction On this occasion, we can only offer our thanks and congratulations to the student Mohammed Jareh Saad for his great efforts throughout his study period, which resulted in this distinguished achievement. We also extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the supervising professors and members of the discussion committee for their diligent efforts and valuable contribution in presenting the thesis in the best possible way
