Drugs and Toxicology Branch

Branch Vision:

The vision of the department is to make medical students familiar with the theoretical knowledge and concepts about drugs and therapeutics on the one hand, and have good practical experience in this field on the other hand, which qualifies them to use and prescribe drugs in the best possible way and enables them to specialize in this science in the future.

Branch Mission:

Preparing distinguished doctors in the field of using drugs and therapeutics in the best possible way, and keeping pace with the scientific developments in this field, as well as graduating postgraduate students (masters) in drugs and therapeutics.

Branch Objectives:

The branch aims to teach students scientific information and experiences related to drugs and therapeutics, which include extensive knowledge of drugs, their groups, uses, and mechanism of action, in addition to their interactions with other drugs used by the patient at the same time, their complications, and their effects on the various body systems, in preparation for the knowledge that will be added to them in other clinical branches about various diseases so that the student (future doctor) can prescribe the correct treatment for the patient.

The branch offers courses and programs that qualify students to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and General Surgery, which qualifies graduates to serve the community in medicine and treatments.
