Vision:-

As a major and important branch in training undergraduate and graduate students, it seeks to obtain the most useful and updated programs and methodologies according to recent developments in the medical field. Staying in touch with advanced medical centers via the Internet and e-learning.

Activating the role of the student in participating in medical activities, lessons, seminars and research

Preparing future plans for the student’s participation in scientific activity with resident doctors and under direct supervision

Updating books, references and the library using all scientific methods in medicine, especially e-learning.

Message:-

Preparing the medical student to deal with the patient by taking history and physical examination to reach a diagnosis

Training the student to gain experience to discover physical signs in order to reach the appropriate diagnosis and treatment
Focus on common diseases in the region and country with methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment, especially infectious diseases.
Educating the student about human rights, medical ethics and how to deal with patients, medical and nursing staff and preparing them to be leaders, professionals and team players

Objectives:-

At the end of the 4-year training in internal medicine (3, 4, 5 and 6 years), the student will be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge of the scientific and human foundations of medicine by studying aspects related to common and life-threatening diseases affecting adults in terms of: familiarity with the main principles of epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and pathophysiology

Clinical signs, complications, analyses and interventions required to confirm the diagnosis, prevention principles, treatment principles and follow-up

Demonstrate clinical skills Students should be able to:

a) Obtain and document both a complete and focused medical history.

b) Perform and document both a complete and focused physical examination c) Interpret commonly used diagnostic tests.

d) Students should be able to integrate the above history, physical findings and diagnostic test results into a meaningful diagnostic formulation.
e) Students should be able to demonstrate clinical and administrative skills.
f) Students should be able to demonstrate the technical skills necessary to perform many common procedures and interventions used in internal medicine
Communication/Doctor-Patient Relationship
The medical student will be able to communicate effectively with patients, their families and the community

Participate in teamwork with other medical personnel as a team.
