Wasit University College of Medicine Conducts a Training Course on “Magnetic Resonance Imaging: How It Works, Benefits, and Precautions”
The College of Medicine at Wasit University organized a training course titled “Magnetic Resonance Imaging: How It Works, Benefits, and Precautions.” The course was delivered by Asst. Prof. Ikhlas Majid Hamid, Asst. Prof. Samer Fadel Al-Wazni, and Lecturer Huda Ashour Shati.
Targeting both staff and students, the course provided an in-depth overview of the MRI machine, explaining its principle of operation, structure, and key applications. It covered the body organs best suited for MRI scanning, the reasons MRI is preferred over other imaging techniques in certain cases, and the categories of individuals who can safely undergo MRI scans. Additionally, the session highlighted the precautions associated with MRI and the groups for whom MRI is contraindicated.
This course is part of a series of training programs conducted by faculty members of the College of Medicine in collaboration with the Continuous Education Unit. These initiatives aim to promote health awareness among both staff and students.
