Branch Vision:

The College of Medicine is a model of Iraqi medical institutions to provide a distinguished educational program to prepare doctors capable of working and competing at the national, regional and international levels, and for this program to be an indicator in society in terms of medicine and disease prevention.

The vision of the branch is to make medical college students familiar with the basics of general surgery and all its specialties, which qualifies them in the future to specialize in these specialties, as well as treat patients in emergency rooms upon graduation.

Branch Mission:

Meeting the requirements of the health sector in preparing competent doctors capable of raising the health level and working to confront health problems for the general community and contributing to providing high-quality health care and security and communicating with the community to identify health needs and adopt solutions for them.

Preparing competent doctors familiar with the science of surgery and keeping pace with developments in international universities, as well as graduating postgraduate students (higher diploma and Iraqi and Arab board) and specializing in general surgery, orthopedic surgery and fractures, eye surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, chest surgery, heart and blood vessels and diagnostic radiology.

Objectives Branch:

Preparing and qualifying distinguished doctors capable of serving the community and providing the best medical and health services to the citizen. Working to ensure that the graduate doctor is aware and conscious of his responsibility and responsive to the patient’s needs. Working to ensure that the doctor is cooperative with his colleagues and respectful of his subordinates. Working to develop clinical skills and acquire knowledge. Enhancing the ability to understand the patient’s psychological and social behavior that helps in diagnosing and treating patients. Enhancing the ability to conduct scientific experiments and research in medical, clinical and basic sciences. Providing high-quality medical educational curricula at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
