The Quality Assurance Division at the College of Medicine, Wasit University, held a series of seminars within the activities of the World Quality Week, which included an introduction to national accreditation and the academic value of annual evaluation in addition to the quality of education
The first day (Monday 11/11) included a seminar entitled Obtaining National Accreditation, in which Dr. Mohamed Hassan to define the importance of programmatic accreditation, the lecturer touched on the roadmap to reach national accreditation for medical colleges and defined the main axes of accreditation and mechanisms for maintaining the axes. The seminar also showed the role of cooperation and teamwork to achieve the desired results. During the seminar, the role of faculty members, employees, and students in maintaining quality requirements was clarified and it was recommended to work diligently to maintain this achievement. On the second day of the series of quality events (Tuesday 12/11), there were two seminars. The first seminar was entitled Evaluating Academic Performance to Achieve Institutional Excellence in Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Rana Hussein Rahima lectured in it, which included an introduction to the importance of academic evaluation and its role in the quality of education. The mechanisms followed in the evaluation were addressed in addition to the common errors in this process. The lecturer also pointed out the need to be accurate and objective in the evaluation process. Reference was also made to the latest update in the evaluation forms and new work mechanisms. As for the second workshop for the second day of the Quality Week, it was entitled Quality in Higher Education, and was lectured by M. M. Karim Jaber Khalaf, where the researcher addressed the basics of general quality and the specificities of education quality due to its importance in the quality of work in all other institutions, where he showed the impact of the quality of outputs (students) on the quality of work and its development. The symposium presented the different models of quality in higher education with the presentation of an integrated method for implementing the quality system. The symposiums concluded with a discussion with the attendees that included questions and suggestions that serve the process of education quality.
