Public partnerships in universities and their role in achieving sustainable development goals

Under the supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Abbas Al-Aqabi, the Public Partnership and Community Service Unit at the University Presidency organised a workshop entitled ‘Public Partnership in Universities and its Role in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals’ at the Ata Kati Hall in the College of Medicine. The workshop aimed to define the concept of public partnership and its impact on supporting the university environment, highlighting the relationship between institutional partnerships and sustainable development goals, as well as presenting successful local models in this field. The workshop invited attendees to adopt initiatives that enhance the university’s role in serving the community through institutional cooperation, in addition to discussing the university’s vision and future plans within the institutional accreditation programme and explaining the mechanism of public partnership committees in the faculties and the importance of their role in preparing the action plan for the next academic year. The invitation to attend the workshop was extended to the deans of the colleges, assistant deans, heads of departments and branches, and members of the public partnership committees in the university’s colleges.
