Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the College of Medicine organised a voluntary awareness campaign entitled ‘Clean Water, Sanitation and Rational Water Consumption’ as part of its efforts to promote community awareness of the importance of water and its conservation as one of the most important goals of sustainable development.
This campaign was organised with the participation of M.M. Basem Mohammed Abdullah, M.M. Jassim Jbara, M.M. Rana Hamad Saleh, Mr. Ali Mohammed Aboud, Ms. Israa Ayed Mohammed, and Ms. Hanin Amer Abdul Hassan. The campaign focused on raising awareness of the importance of hygiene, rationalising water consumption, and emphasising the role of individuals in preserving this precious resource, given the increasing water scarcity the world is witnessing.
At the end of the campaign, participants emphasised that such voluntary initiatives represent an important step in activating the role of universities in serving the community, promoting a culture of sustainability, and reinforcing the concept that water is the secret of life and everyone’s duty to preserve it
