Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the Student Activities Division (Volunteer Work Unit and Cultural Activities Unit), in cooperation with the University Psychological Counselling Division, an educational awareness campaign on the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on individuals and society, as part of health and psychological awareness programmes aimed at promoting university awareness and social responsibility among students.
The campaign included a detailed explanation of the physical, psychological and social effects of drug use, in addition to highlighting the role of the family and educational institutions in prevention, as well as explaining the correct methods of dealing with psychological pressures that may push some young people towards addiction. The campaign also included the distribution of awareness and guidance leaflets to promote a culture of rejection and prevention.
The college dean’s office emphasised that these activities are part of its ongoing awareness plan to spread a culture of health among students and establish a safe university environment, calling on all young people to stay away from anything that threatens their academic and professional future and to contribute to spreading awareness within the community.
At the end of the campaign, thanks were extended to those in charge of the activity and the volunteers, wishing everyone safety and success in serving the community
