Faculty of Medicine – Wasit University participates in an awareness workshop on immunodeficiency and AIDS at the Faculty of Fine Arts
As part of its scientific and community role, the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Wasit Health Department, participated in an awareness workshop entitled
‘Human Immunodeficiency Virus and AIDS: Awareness and Prevention – HIV/AIDS’ as part of Entrepreneurship Week activities hosted by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Wasit University.
The workshop aimed to raise health awareness among students and staff by introducing the nature of immunodeficiency disease, its modes of transmission and methods of prevention, as well as correcting common misconceptions associated with the disease, thereby contributing to the promotion of responsible health behaviour within the university community.
The workshop included scientific and awareness-raising topics that focused on introducing the disease, ways of prevention, and individual and community health responsibility. In addition, there was a practical component that involved conducting medical tests and taking blood samples from a number of students, faculty members, and attendees, under the supervision of specialised medical staff, with the aim of establishing a culture of early testing and enhancing the practical aspect of health awareness.
