The Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University organised an advanced training course on flow cytometry technology
The Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University held a training course entitled ‘Fundamentals of Flow Cytometry Technology and its Applications in the Medical and Research Fields.’ The course was taught by
Prof. Safaa Abdul-Ilah Faraj, specialising in paediatrics and haematology
Prof. Mohammed Ali Salman Al-Kaabi, specialising in clinical immunology
and Dr. Rana Hamad Saleh, specialising in medical microbiology.
The course aimed to develop the knowledge and research skills of postgraduate students and research professors in the use of flow cytometry technology through understanding the basic principles, mastering experimental design, analysing multi-parameter data, and interpreting scientific results in a way that supports academic research and clinical applications.
The course included recommendations, most notably the need to provide a flow cytometry device in Wasit Governorate due to its important role in clinical diagnosis and scientific research, integrating the technology into postgraduate programmes, continuing to train staff on advanced data analysis programmes, and encouraging research collaboration between the disciplines of immunology, haematology, molecular biology and biomedical sciences.
This course is part of the college’s efforts to raise the scientific level and enhance research capabilities, thereby contributing to the academic process and the health sector.
