Under the slogan ‘Women: The Beating Heart of Sustainable Development’
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit, the Continuing Education Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit, organised an awareness campaign in which our students and lecturers participated, focusing on the integration of women in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where
Women are a cornerstone of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, as their empowerment and gender equality (Goal 5) act as a driving force for all other goals. Women contribute effectively to strengthening the economy, protecting the environment, reducing poverty and achieving food security, making their participation a prerequisite for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development
Eliminating discrimination against women and granting them equal rights to resources, education and inheritance is the cornerstone for addressing the challenges of our time, including economic crises and conflicts, according to reports by UN Women and the Arab Women’s Organisation.
