The Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University hosted the defence of an outstanding undergraduate research thesis
A discussion of a graduation thesis by student Asim took place in the discussion hall at the Faculty of Medicine, Wasit University. The thesis addressed the early use of laparoscopy in the treatment of acute cholecystitis in patients with high-risk surgical conditions. The research discussed the importance of early intervention using laparoscopy and its role in reducing complications and improving treatment outcomes in patients with high-risk conditions
The members and supervisors of the discussion committee included the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr Nasir Kazim al-Maliki, alongside a group of specialist professors: Professor Dr Talib al-Mayahi, Professor Dr Hussein al-Badiri, and Assistant Professor Dr Hassan Malak. They praised the importance of the topic and the scientific findings reached by the research, describing it as an outstanding study due to its scientific and in the field of surgery.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee decided to accept the research with some amendments, emphasising the importance of supporting rigorous medical research that contributes to the development of surgical practice and raises the scientific standards of doctors.
