Official visit to strengthen cooperation between the College of Medicine and the health sector in Wasit

The Dean of the College of Medicine at Wasit University, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, accompanied by Scientific Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Insaf, visited the Wasit Health Department on Thursday, 10 July 2025.

The academic delegation was received by Dr. Sundus Al-Lami, Head of the Public Health Department at the Directorate, and Dr. Hassanein Ali Al-Saidi.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen and develop cooperation between the College of Medicine and the Public Health Department, and the active participation of public health officials in the Wasit Health Department in preparing and following up on the primary health care course during the summer vacation for fourth-year students, which includes four main themes: nutrition and children, care for pregnant women, vaccinations, and communicable diseases.

The meeting also discussed mechanisms for organising joint health awareness activities within the governorate, under the supervision of College of Medicine teaching staff and in coordination with the Wasit Health Department, thereby contributing to the support of preventive programmes and serving the local community.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening integration between academic and field aspects, contributing to the development of health conditions in the province and raising the efficiency of students in dealing with health sectors in the field.
