Official visit to Wasit Health Department

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, accompanied by Scientific Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, paid an official visit to the Wasit Health Department. They were received by Dr. Jabbar Al-Yasiri, Director General of the Department, and Dr. Saadoun Al-Amir, Assistant Director General, in the presence of Dr. Hassanein Ali Al-Saidi, representing the Public Health Department.

During the visit, an extensive meeting was held to emphasise the importance of activating the concepts of the memorandum of understanding between the College of Medicine and the Wasit Health Department, where a number of important points were agreed upon, most notably:
1️⃣ Assigning specialist and consultant doctors from the Health Department to participate in the clinical training of students within teaching hospitals.
2️⃣ Supporting the college by providing an appropriate training base, with the Director General of Health expressing his willingness to equip Al-Zahra Teaching Hospital and Al-Karama Hospital with the required classrooms.
3️⃣ Organising an optional course on public health for fourth-year students during the summer vacation, in coordination with the Wasit Health Department and relevant health institutions.
4️⃣ Studying the possibility of transferring specialist doctors from the Health Department to the College of Medicine to meet its scientific and training needs.

These steps are part of joint efforts to strengthen academic and health cooperation in the province and create a suitable training environment for College of Medicine students.
