The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University discusses prospects for developing the health and education sectors with the Governor of Wasit
As part of efforts to strengthen mutual cooperation and develop health and education programmes in Wasit Governorate, the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University visited the Governorate’s Office to discuss ways of improving health and academic standards.
The delegation was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr Nasir Kazim al-Maliki, accompanied by the Academic Assistant, Professor Dr Ahmed Ibrahim Ansaf, and the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr Salim Rahif al-Aidi. They were received by the Governor of Wasit, Mr Ali Salimun, in the presence of the Director of the Wasit Health Department, Dr Jabbar al-Yasiri, and the Director of Al-Zahra Teaching Hospital, Dr Ammar Hashim, and the Director of Al-Karama Teaching Hospital, Dr Amjad Ahmed.
The meeting saw discussion of a number of important issues serving the health and education sectors, foremost among which was support for the Faculty of Medicine, the development of its infrastructure, and the launch of new projects contributing to the provision of a comprehensive educational environment for students. The meeting also explored mechanisms for constructing a new building for the Faculty and expanding its facilities in line with the requirements of academic development and the increasing student numbers.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and the Wasit Health Department, thereby helping to raise the standard of clinical training for students, improve the health services provided to citizens, and support joint scientific and research programmes that serve the community and advance medical standards in the governorate.
During the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of continued coordination and joint cooperation to achieve the desired development objectives and to provide all forms of support to health and educational institutions, thereby positively impacting the standard of services provided to the people of Wasit Governorate.
At the conclusion of the meeting, those present expressed their optimism regarding the outcomes of this meeting, which
