Faculty of Medicine – Wasit University hosts visiting professor Dr. Luay Al-Saadi as part of its advanced academic programme
Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University today hosted Dr. Luay Al-Saadi, an anaesthesiologist at Derry Teaching Hospital in the United Kingdom, as part of its visiting professors programme. The visit was aimed at enhancing medical expertise and exchanging knowledge with teaching staff and students at the faculty.
Dr. Al-Saadi presented a series of important scientific topics, including:
Medical Assessment
Medical Assessment
Critical Patient Assessment
Pre-operative Assessment
These topics were addressed from a surgical and medical perspective, including the latest internationally recognised practices, in addition to highlighting the role of anaesthesia in all stages of assessment and treatment.
The event was held on Thursday, 20 November 2025, in the Dr. Ata Kati Hall, Building D, within the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, and was attended by a large number of faculty members and students, reflecting the faculty’s great interest in developing the skills of its students and raising the level of medical education.
The dean of the faculty emphasised that hosting international academic experts is an important step in strengthening scientific and academic cooperation, contributing to the development of students’ skills and exposing them to the latest concepts in modern medical practice.
