A special awareness exhibition organised by third-year students in Group B as part of the Health and Disease in Society educational unit, highlighting the most important primary healthcare programmes, as part of an educational project aimed at enhancing students’ field and creative skills and stimulating their sense of social responsibility.
Activity objectives:
• Raise health awareness in the community.
• Strengthen the role of the Faculty of Medicine in supporting family and community health.
• Develop students’ teamwork and creative thinking skills.
• Enhance cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and the Wasit Health Department.
The exhibition included presentations, posters and brochures designed and produced by students on:
Communicable and non-communicable diseases – immunisation – maternal and child health – mental health – nutrition – school health – family planning – breastfeeding – health education – the environment – therapeutic care services.
The students presented awareness posters and brochures to a specialised evaluation committee comprising faculty members, a healthcare programme trainer, and the Health Promotion Division of the Wasit Health Department. The evaluation was based on clarity of message, accuracy of information, quality of design, and content organisation.
The audience praised the students’ teamwork in completing their tasks at the exhibition and presenting the awareness topics in the best possible way using different methods.
