Wasit University organises workshop entitled ‘Promoting peace and tolerance in our communities and empowering the new generation to confront and prevent violent extremism’
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, in collaboration with the Planning and Follow-up Division, organised a workshop entitled ‘Promoting Peace and Tolerance in Our Communities and Empowering the New Generation to Confront and Prevent Violent Extremism.’
The aim of the workshop, presented by M.M. Amal Nahwi Nayef, was to promote positive values and social cohesion and raise awareness of the dangers of violent extremism and its causes, thereby helping individuals and communities to recognise the warning signs.
It also aimed to educate participants about the dangers of violent extremism and its root causes.
The workshop included open discussions among participants about their experiences and opinions on extremism and ways to confront it, as well as an analysis of real cases related to violent extremism and how they were dealt with.
