Based on the memorandum of understanding between the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University and the Royal College of Physicians in Iraq IRCP IRAQ NETWORK, and in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Kafeel University, our faculty was visited by external resident Dr. Muhammad Jaafar Muhammad Hassan Al-Ansari to evaluate the conduct of examinations at various academic levels.
The requirements of the visit were discussed with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Ansaf, and the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Salim Rahif Al-Aidi.
The resident professor reviewed samples of theoretical and practical exam questions and also visited the exam committee to assess the academic reality of the exams. The resident professor also reviewed the progress of the final exams for the first stage of the first course. The assessor visited the skills laboratory and the anatomy, chemistry and microbiology laboratories to review the educational and practical environment and its compliance with approved academic standards.
Finally, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ansari met with a group of students to discuss and evaluate the exams from the students’ point of view and listen to their opinions and observations about the level of the exams and the mechanisms for organising them.
At the end of the visit, the visiting professor praised the great support provided by our college to our students in order to achieve scientific efficiency, practical skills and ethical commitment, stressing the importance of continuing scientific and academic cooperation in order to contribute to the development of the educational process and raise the level of medical education in accordance with international standards
