The College of Medicine at Wasit University witnessed the launch of the first day of an educational seminar on the dangers of hemorrhagic fever, with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Kaabi, PhD in Immunology, and Dr. Hussein Adnan, PhD in Internal Medicine. This seminar came in light of the increasing number of cases of this disease in Wasit Governorate, where hemorrhagic fever is a viral disease that transmitted through direct contact with animals infected by ticks or mosquitoes
The seminar included a detailed explanation of the clinical symptoms associated with the disease, the laboratory tests required to diagnose infections, methods of treatment, and preventive measures that should be followed
During the seminar, the lecturers emphasised the importance of avoiding unlicensed slaughterhouses and the need to wear gloves when handling fresh meat and to wash it thoroughly before use in order to protect public health and limit the spread of the disease.
