Launch of the optional summer training course for fourth-year students at the Faculty of Medicine – University of Wasit
The College of Medicine at Wasit University has launched an optional summer training course for fourth-year students, which will last for two weeks, with the first week devoted to theoretical lectures, followed by a second week of practical training in model health centres.
This programme is a collaboration between the Dean of the College and the Wasit Health Department/Public Health Division, and is supervised by specialists in the fields of primary health care. The course covers four main topics: maternal and child care, nutrition, immunisation and vaccines, and communicable diseases.
The first day featured a lecture by Dr. Zahra Hadi, head of the maternal and child care programme at the Wasit Health Department. The Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, and the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Salim Rahif, were also present to follow up on the training and ensure that the educational environment was conducive for the students.
