College of Medicine at Wasit University, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Abdulkhaliq Ahmed Al-Kanani, Consultant Paediatrician, participated in the Medical Conference on Rare Genetic Diseases, which was held at the Babylon Hotel from 24 to 25 October, sponsored by Sanofi International, with the participation of a select group of professors and researchers specialising in paediatrics and genetic diseases. .
The conference included discussions on the latest scientific developments in the diagnosis of rare genetic diseases in children and modern methods of treatment using advanced genetic techniques. The research sessions also addressed various topics on the importance of early diagnosis and the role of cooperation between medical and research centres in developing methods of detection and treatment. During the conference, recent scientific studies from inside and outside Iraq were presented, aimed at improve the level of healthcare provided to children
Dr. Al-Kanani’s participation in this conference confirms the keenness of the College of Medicine at the University of Wasit to strengthen scientific communication with local and international medical institutions and keep pace with recent developments in the field of paediatrics and genetic diseases, thereby contributing to the development of medical staff capabilities and supporting national efforts to improve the health situation in Iraq.
