The football tournament at Wasit University witnessed a remarkable final match between the Faculty of Medicine team and the Faculty of Humanities team, with both sides delivering a high-calibre performance characterised by sportsmanship and fair play. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for the Faculty of Medicine team, who claimed the championship title and the cup amidst widespread praise for their technical skill and discipline on the pitch The event was held under the patronage of the President of Wasit University, Prof. Abbas Laftah Knehar Al-Aqabi, with direct support from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, and in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr Salim Rahif Al-Aidi. A number of players from the Faculty of Medicine stood out with their outstanding skill and organised team performance, reflecting a true team spirit
At the conclusion of the match, certificates of appreciation were presented to the professors in attendance in recognition of their supportive role. The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities was also honoured in recognition of his active participation and the high level of sportsmanship demonstrated by his team. Furthermore, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the outstanding players and goal scorers from the Faculty of Medicine team in celebration of their dedication and their efforts, which contributed to this outstanding sporting achievement, reflecting the development of student activities at the university
