In the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Wasit University, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Al-Maliki, the Wasit Doctors’ Union, in cooperation with the College of Medicine and the Wasit Health Department, organised a special ceremony to award final certificates to new doctors and graduates after they completed the professional competency course, which is a prerequisite for engaging in medical work.

The ceremony included the recitation of the medical oath, in a moving scene that reflected the graduates’ commitment to their humanitarian and professional duty towards patients and society, amid an atmosphere of pride and honour. The event was attended by a number of professors, doctors and health professionals, as well as the graduates’ families, who expressed their happiness at this important moment in their children’s lives.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Maliki emphasised the importance of this moment, which represents the transition from the classroom to the workplace, stressing the need to adhere to professional ethics and to strive continuously towards scientific and professional development. He also praised the efforts of the Medical Association and the Wasit Health Department in supporting young talent and preparing them to serve society.

It is worth noting that the professional competency course organised by the association includes intensive lectures and workshops on medical ethics, clinical practice and health management, and aims to enhance the readiness of graduates before they start working in health institutions.
