The Noon Cultural Forum, in collaboration with the General Medical Association, the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, the Wasit Medical Association, and the Wasit Health Department, held the first scientific forum on diabetes under the slogan ‘Towards Integrated Care for Diabetes Patients’ on Friday at the Noon Cultural Forum Garden.
The forum was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Wasit University, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Kazim Jawad Al-Maliki, a number of doctors and specialists in various fields of medicine, as well as a group of people interested in health issues and members of the Wasit community. The forum included a scientific seminar that addressed the latest methods in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and discussed the effects of the disease on the eyes, retina, kidneys, limbs, and pregnancy. A select group of professors and doctors participated in presenting the scientific topics, including Dr. Adel, Dr. Iqbal, Dr. Firas Turki, Dr. Ahmed Sabah Al-Badiri, and Dr. Mahdi, President of the Noon Association.
During the forum, participants emphasised the importance of health awareness and cooperation between medical and community institutions in order to reduce the complications of diabetes and improve the quality of life for patients
