Conclusion of the Faculty of Medicine’s exhibition to raise awareness of public health programmes on Wednesday, 26/11/2025
Under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Nasir Kazim Jawad Al-Maliki, and the Administrative Assistant, Prof. Salim Rahif Al-Aidi, with the participation of representatives of the public health department – Wasit Health Department, the Family and Community Medicine Branch concluded the activities of the public health awareness exhibition organised by our college with the participation of our creative students.
We were also honoured by the presence of Ms. Khatam Al-Ajili, member of the Wasit Provincial Council, which added great value and support to this activity, which aims to raise health awareness and enhance the role of students in serving the community.
The second day of the exhibition featured an outstanding presentation by Group A / Phase III of posters, brochures and other activities related to awareness programmes that reflect the seriousness and creativity of our students and the efforts of our professors in promoting a culture of prevention and community health. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition addressed topics of importance to Iraqi society, including: communicable diseases and control programmes, awareness of the mother and child care programme, chronic diseases and methods of prevention, mental health and community psychological support, proper nutrition and combating malnutrition, vaccinations and national immunisation programmes, school health, environmental health and water and food safety, as well as combating smoking and drugs and reducing risky behaviours.
Letters of thanks and appreciation were also presented to the gentlemen and ladies of the Wasit Health Department who participated in the practical training of students in primary health care centres within the Health and Disease in Society educational unit, in recognition of their efforts in supporting the educational process and their keenness to provide a practical training environment that contributes to honing students’ skills and enhancing
