Training course on the importance of the Arabic language and its role in contemporary media
As part of efforts to promote linguistic and media awareness in academic and educational institutions, the Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Education at Wasit University, held a two-day training course entitled ‘The Arabic Language and Media: Between Reality and Aspiration’.
The course, which was led by Dr. Dr. Hayat Ali Hussein and attended by Mr. Rashad Saad Abdul-Sahib, an employee of the Media Division at the Faculty of Medicine, aimed to enhance the linguistic awareness of the participants and develop their skills in using proper Arabic in the media field, thereby contributing to improving and upgrading media performance to reflect the dignified academic image of Wasit University and its faculties.
The course included scientific and practical topics that focused on the importance of the Arabic language and its role in contemporary media, as well as ways to improve the linguistic level of media in line with the rules and integrity of the Arabic language.
It also discussed the close relationship between the Arabic language and the media, and the role of cultural and free media in correcting the linguistic path and upgrading the level of media discourse, in addition to emphasising the integrity of the media language and its freedom from verbal slips and linguistic errors.
