The College of Medicine at Wasit University conducts the Clinical Skills Examination (Masters) for second stage students The College of Medicine at Wasit University conducted the Clinical Skills Examination (Masters) for second stage students, which included a practical evaluation of a number of basic skills that students must master as part of their medical training.

The exam included training and practical testing in important clinical skills, including: How to take a swab from a patient, measure blood sugar, perform a pregnancy test in diuresis and general diuresis analysis, as well as methods of administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. The exact details that the doctor must follow when performing each skill to ensure accuracy and patient safety were discussed.

These skills are part of the sixty essential clinical skills that students must acquire during their six years of study at the Faculty of Medicine, with the aim of qualifying them professionally and theoretically to practise the profession efficiently.

The exam was supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr Naseer Al-Malki, and Scientific Associate Professor Dr Ahmed Ibrahim Insaf, with the participation of Professors M.D. Tamara Qais, M.D. Diaa Abdul Khaliq, M.D. Zahraa Hadi, and a distinguished group of senior teaching assistants in the Faculty of Medicine.

This exam comes within the framework of the college’s keenness to improve the level of practical and clinical training for its students, and to qualify them fully for the requirements of the medical profession.
