College of Medicine at Wasit University hosts an open meeting with the university presidency to discuss ways of administrative and scientific development The College of Medicine at Wasit University hosted an open meeting with the university presidency on Monday morning, 7 April 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the (Atta Kati) hall. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abbas Lifta Al-Aqabi, President of the University, in the presence of his assistants and a number of academic and administrative staff members.

The meeting came within the framework of the university’s endeavour to enhance direct communication with its affiliates and listen to their opinions and suggestions. The meeting reviewed the university’s administrative and scientific plan and clarified the rights and duties of all affiliates.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing academic and administrative cadres, and put forward ideas and development initiatives that would contribute to improving the work environment and services provided to students and affiliates alike.

The meeting witnessed a wide interaction by the attendees, especially the new employees and those who have been confirmed on the permanent staff in recent years, who expressed their appreciation for such dialogue initiatives that open effective communication channels with the university leadership.

In his speech, Prof. Abbas Lifta Al-Aqabi stressed that the University Presidency is continuing to implement its strategic plans that aim to raise the scientific and administrative level of the institution, stressing the importance of involving all groups in the process of development and modernisation.

At the end of the meeting, a number of observations and suggestions were noted, which will hopefully be included in the university’s upcoming programmes to improve institutional performance and enhance the university work environment.
