Under the patronage of the President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Fadel Kaniher Al-Aqabi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Naseer Kazim Al-Maliki, the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Presidency and the Continuing Education Unit, organised a specialised scientific lecture entitled:

Application of fMRI’, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Shamil Mohsen Hadi, who teaches at Oakland University in America and holds a doctorate in computer engineering and its applications.

The lecture included a comprehensive review of the uses of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology in the medical and research fields, highlighting the mechanisms of action of the technology and its most important applications in studying the human brain and diagnosing neurological and psychological diseases, in addition to its advanced use in artificial intelligence projects and analysing biological data.

The lecture was attended by a group of professors and students of the college and those interested in the medical and engineering fields, where scientific discussions enriched the atmosphere of the session and contributed to enhancing knowledge about this vital specialisation.

The event concluded with honouring the lecturer and taking commemorative photos amid widespread praise for the distinguished scientific level of the lecture and its importance in opening new horizons for researchers and students.
