The College of Medicine at Wasit University received a delegation from the Holy Abbasid Threshold for an official visit during which they were briefed on the ‘Zainabi Cloak’ project adopted by the Holy Abbasid Threshold and hosted by the college in cooperation with it.

The visit took place in the presence of the President of Wasit University, Prof Abbas Liftah Kneeher Al-Aqabi, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr Naseer Kazim Al-Maliki, and a number of faculty members and students.

During the meeting, the delegation reviewed the details of the project, which aims to strengthen the religious and cultural identity of young university women through educational and awareness programmes that contribute to spreading the values of chastity and modesty derived from the biography of Sayyida Zainab, peace be upon her.

The attendees stressed the importance of such initiatives in building bridges of cooperation between religious and academic institutions and activating the humanitarian and cultural role of the university in serving the community. The visiting delegation also appreciated the scientific efforts and purposeful activities offered by the Faculty of Medicine, expressing their admiration for the Faculty’s keenness to embrace initiatives that contribute to building human and value awareness among its students
